Our mission is to curate high quality medical clothing that is functional , uplifting , and purpose driven. Or as we call it , "Clothing with a Cause".

The Awear Company was started in New York City by Jasmine Gibson, a Registered Nurse. In 2017, Jasmine volunteered for a medical mission trip to Ghana to perform free surgeries for the people in the town of Mampong. In an effort to raise funds for the trip, Jasmine decided to turn to her passion of sewing in order to create something of good use that she could sell in order to raise money for her upcoming trip. Working as an Operating Room Nurse, she noticed that the scrub caps provided by the hospitals were flimsy, low quality, and just flat out dull to look at; but to make it even worse, both the scrub caps readily available in the hospital and in the marketplace were not equipped to handle various types of hair.

In a diverse ecosystem like New York, one would assume that a product that catered to multiple types of hair would be present in the market. With a purpose to in mind to raise money for a worthy cause , Jasmine set out on her journey to create a African inspired scrub caps that would cater to women and men who from all walks of life with every hair texture imaginable. During this journey to create, The Awear Company was born.
